Wedding Photography Frequently Asked Questions

A Collection of FAQs

Hi and welcome to our Questions and Answers Page!

I hope I will be able to answer all your questions and put your mind at ease. However, if you still have questions, I will be always here for you. Please feel free to give me a quick phone call or send me a text message at (305) 714-1950.

What I typically see are that couples will schedule a free wedding photography consultation with me, so that they can have all their questions answered. You are more than welcome to schedule a complimentary consultation with me by following this link- https://mywhwp.com/consult

Q1. How long have you been photographing weddings?

A1. I have been photographing weddings for over 10 years - over 200 love stories captured from Santa Barbara, California, to Miami, Florida.

Q2. Can I see your prices and packages?

A2. I don't offer ready-made packages. Instead, all my wedding photography packages are custom-made to fit my couples’ desires and finance.

To have a package built specifically for you, you must first have a complimentary consultation with me. This way, I can learn what your photography needs are and present you with a custom collection that is uniquely you. My couples generally invest between $3000 and $4000 on their collections.

Q3. Do you offer videography service too?

A3. I do not offer a videography service. My expertise is in photography, and creating authentic still images is my passion.

Q4. Can I get a discount on my collections?

A4. I occasionally offer discounts, mainly to military couples. However, I do charge considerably more than a budget wedding photographer, and that’s because of the vast differences in the results you will get.

While I cannot discount my rates to meet a low budget, I can certainly give you a lot of value through the experience I have behind my brand. I’ve been a full-time, professional wedding photographer for over 10 years, and I have a whole slew of reviews and awards over that amazing time!

Q5. Do you require a Retainer?

A5. Yes, I do require a 25% Non-Refundable retainer to secure your date. The Retainer is credited toward your total collection cost. The remaining balance will be due one month before the actual date of the event.

Q6. Do you take payment in installments?

A6. Yes, I do! I require a 25% retainer fee upfront to get you on my calendar, and the balance can be broken up into 3 payments.

Q7. What is your cancellation policy?

A7. You must notify me immediately of any changes in schedule or location, at least (30) days in advance of the scheduled EVENT date.
If I’m notified by phone, a written (i.e., email) confirmation must be sent within (5) days of such notification.

If the date of the EVENT changes and notice is not given within the period specified above. In that case, I’ll be entitled to 100 % of the Retainer as liquidated damages for having to reschedule the EVENT. The remainder of the payment will be applied toward the new date, but you shall be responsible for making up the deficiency retained as liquidated damages.

Q8. Do you have a refund policy?

A8. Yes, I do have a 30-day Money Back Guarantee Policy. I’m confident that you will love my services and products. However, if you are not completely happy, you are protected by my 100% money-back guarantee policy.

Q9. Do you have insurance?

A9. Yes, I do! I have a million-dollar liability insurance coverage for bodily injury and property damage. If your venue requires a Certificate of Insurance, we would be happy to send them a copy.

Q10. How would you describe your photography style?

A10. My couples describe my style as modern, classy, elegant, and beautiful. However, I like to describe my style as organic contemporary because I take extreme measures to ensure that my photos look as natural as possible.

Q11. How would you describe your working style?

A11. I have a solid work ethic. I’ll show up on time, and my team and I will work continually throughout your wedding day. There will be times when we may just lay back and capture the moments, and at other times we may be taking charge and choreographing shots. The bottom line is that I’m not rigid. I want you to have fun and enjoy the entire process.

Q12. Do you have backup equipment in case of failure?

A12. Yes, I have multiple cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment. In addition, my photographs are triple backed up for security.

Q13. Will I need a second photographer?

A13. It depends on your photography needs and budget. I generally recommend a second photographer if you have more than 100 guests. I will also recommend a second photographer if you want getting ready shots of you and your partner, and you both are getting ready in separate locations.

If you are getting prepared in the same hotel, that is fine. You don’t need a second photographer. However, note that, with a second photographer, you will get more variety of shots from different angles.

Q14. Do I need to do a first look? weddings?

A14. No, you don’t have to do a first look. However, it is strongly recommended. Doing a first look allows you to create some beautiful and authentic photos when your makeup is still fresh and you both or not under the judging eyes of your guests.

The first look is also a big stress reliever because you get to see each other before the ceremony, reducing the jitters and nervousness.

If your wedding ceremony is late in the evening at sunset, you may want to consider doing a first look so that you can get some couples photos in the daylight.

Q15. How do I book you?

First, I will send you the proposal with your collection, contract, and payment schedule.

Review your collection, and contract to make sure it is everything you want and agreed to.

Next, sign the contract and pay the initial payment (the Retainer).

I will receive an email letting me know that I have a contract to sign.

I sign the contract and send you an email welcoming you to the White House Family.

A15. Easy – I have a secure paperless booking and payment application. Everything is done virtually.

Q16. How long does it take to get my pictures?

A16. It generally takes 4 to six weeks to get your photos. I go through each photo and add my recipe to each one - this is very time-consuming, but it ensures that every single picture is the best it could possibly be.

Don’t worry, though. I’m just as anxious as you to deliver the photos to you and get your feedback. I promise I will keep you updated along the way.

Q17. Can I get the copyrights to the photos?

A17. Yes, you can, for a premium cost. However, I don’t think the copyright is what you want. When you buy a song on iTunes or a music CD, you don’t ask the song’s creators for the copyrights, do you?

I’m not trying to be smart here but to make a point. And that point is that the creators of the work, music, paintings, photos, etc., are the legal copyrights holders.

Without going in-depth on copyrights, what you do get is usage and print rights. This allows you unlimited sharing and printing rights of all your photos. To learn more about Copyrights and Print-rights, visit my post here - https://mywhwp.com/copyrightvsprintrights.

Q18. Will we get all our photos?

A18. Heck yea – except the spoils that I trash. I don’t believe in giving you photo proofs that are watermarked and unedited. All your photos will be digitally enhanced, high resolution, and print-ready.

Q19. Will the photos we received have watermarks on them?

A19. Hell no! I don’t believe in giving you photo proofs that are watermarked and unedited. Instead, all your photos will be digitally enhanced, high resolution, and print-ready.

Q20. Do we have to buy prints from you?

A20. No, you don’t have to buy prints from us. However, your online gallery will have a shopping cart, and you will have the option to buy prints from me.

The advantage of buying prints from me is that our print lab partners have been truly tried and tested for their quality work. So you can rest assured that when you purchase prints from me, you will be getting high-quality archivable prints.

Plus, you also get the added benefit of having me looking over your photo and making any additional editing to ensure they are 100% ready to go to the print lab for printing.
